The village of Hardgate, where this admired course is
situated, is steeped in history, with the old Woollen Mills of
Hardgate and Duntocher, now defunct, which were powered by water
from the Kilpatrick Hills. Clydebank is also home of the famous
John Brown Shipyards, were the luxury liners Queen Mary, Queen
Elizabeth, the QE2, and many more, were built. The remains of the
Antonine Wall run along the south boundary of the course at the 7th
hole and there are plenty other notable points of interest which
make your round so enjoyable.
