This is a hilly moorland course consisting of nine intriguing
holes all with magnificent views of the Kyles of Bute, Arran and
Loch Fyne. There are no bunkers, but there are burns, punitive
rough, and long carries over heather, whin and blind holes to keep
you on your toes. The first hole is only 110-yards, but you have to
approach vertically to carry the Dooley Moolachs, stone and heather
outcrops before the green. Everyone loves to play from the ninth,
'Cnoc', poised 200 feet above the water of the Kyles at your back.
You are trying to get to a green that is below you and across the
burn. It is 170-yards away and most of the time you are playing
into the prevailing westerly wind.
