The imposing castle and surrounding hills provide an elegant setting for golf. The castle itself dates back to 1502, although it has had considerable work done to it since these early days. The course is typical of its designer, James Braid, as surprises pop up here, there and everywhere, so unwitting are easily caught out. The opening holes at first appear straightforward, but there are blind shots to contend with and burns that meander across the fairway before the green and within driving distance from the tee.

Please note that due to the major redevelopment of Taymouth Castle Estate and golf course it is likely that the club will only be able to operate 9 holes during the 2011 season. As a result this will affect the overall golfing experience you will receive. Please bear this in mind when making your course choice or if you do still want to pay a visit to Taymouth Castle please ensure you phone Kenmore Hotel on 01887 830205 in advance for an update on the condition the course is in.
