Mussleburgh Links

great views and good value for money!

Played 14-07-2005 by Matt Jackson

Musselburgh Old

The Musselburgh Old Links I would say it's a course that every golfer should experience. Not just for the race course setting, Mrs Forman's 4th or for the chance to defeat my nemesis but to soak in what is pure golfing history.

East Renfrewshire Golf Course

This course is magic. One of James Braids unsung gems and a good test of your skills. Some beautiful holes carved through the hills surrounded by trees and bordering a loch. If your games not great the scenery is. The location is a bonus just outside Glasgow, its an easy commute from the City or Ayrshire.

Pumpherston Golf Course

This course is great fun and challenges a range of your golfing skills. The 18 holes are not long but the interesting design and use of water makes shot selection and accuracy the key. The signiture hole is the 2nd, the most difficult on the course, you will do well to walk off with a par. The practice areas are very good and you will receive a warm welcome in the clubhouse. I thouroughly enjoyed my round here and would recommend it to anyone.

ailsa turnberry

My favourite course anywhere and I include South Africa, Ireland, USA, Australia and Portugal. The challenge is awesome as are the views and there is just something about the place be it the daunting tee shots, the too well placed bunkers (for me at least) or the fact that it is one of the greatest natural Championship courses anywhere in the world. My partners were from Ireland and Sweden and they were as knocked out as I was. A definite must.

Gullane No2

Excellent course and excellent experience. Sunny day but seriously windy. Club personnel were extremely helpful and friendly and set the tone for the day. Slight confusion on which hole to head for early, but that was only a minor criticism ... and served me right for not buying a course guide! The course was in great condition and offered a really good test of golf - not to mention value at less than half the price of No1. I'd happily go back and play again.

Duff House Royal

Beautiful parkland course. Challenging back 9. One of the gems of the North Coast.

Played 21-05-2006 by Mark Finch

Kingussie

Kingussie is a great course if you are straight off the tee but if not the rough is punishing. The course is set in the Cairngorms nationl park with exceptional views and wildlife. The area is a great destination for short golf holidays with other excellent courses nearby.

Spey Valley Golf Course

A fantastic new entry on the highland golf course circuit. The finest scenery in Scotland with a different view on every hole! A must have stop off for any golfer alike. Friendly staff too!

Machrihanish

Well worthy of the long trek and a course that every lover of links golf must play. The opening nine holes are probably the finest I have ever played and with variable wind direction club selection can often be difficult. Do not be put off by the remote location as this is one course not be be overlooked.

COMRIE

Charming golf course in a very scenic and hilly place with wild animals like deers to congratulate you. Nice welcome. Quite easy course if you reach the fairways on the drive (if you're too shot bad luck).

Insch GC

Played one of the best golf courses in the NE of scotland in early August. Had played a few others in the Grampian / Moray area as part of our trip... but "discovered" Insch on the way back from Nairn. Very impressive course, with fine views, tight, maturing course and excellent greens. Ended the day with a great meal in the new clubhouse

Carnoustie Championship

The toughest four finishing holes I have ever played. So challenging that I will never forget, a truly magical place. I shot 40 on the front & 50 on the back. Can't wait for the 2007 Open Championship!

Whitekirk

Played for the 1st time on 29th September and joined the club on 1st October. Excellent course for beginners like myself.

Torphin Hill

One of the most challaging courses I have played for many years. Scenary excellent and the clubhouse first class. The Food was very high quality and everybody was made welcome.

Played 07-10-2006 by PETER HYLAND

Kinross Montgomery

A picturesque parkland course with some tricky holes and interesting undulating greens, where the pin positions can add a stroke or two. Add to this to an evening tee-off at dicounted rate, Black grouse, deer, buzzards and a virtually empty course. This has to be the best value for money I have had for any game in the last ten years. Excellent.

Spey Valley Golf Course

Absolutely superb. Can't think of a negative thing to say about the course itself, although there are a few things still to be sorted out behind the scenes (ie. a permanent clubhouse). Not a weak hole on the course and the scenery is outstanding.

The Glen, North Berwick

A very enjoyable round. Hired a set of clubs which were excellent. Received a very warm welcome and enjoyed a lovely hot shower, a pint and a bacon sandwich after the round. I look forward to visiting again.

Carnoustie championship course

The round at Carnoustie Championship Course was the best golf experience of my life. Nice playing partners, lovely weather and a perfect golf course in perfect shape. The help we got from the caddie was great and that helped me play the best golf of the week.

Royal Aberdeen

Truly one of the best tests of golf I've ever played. It should be on everybody¿s, ¿don't miss list¿.

Harris, Isle of Harris

A great little 9 hole course overlooking the Atlantic. Lovely people, interesting holes, superb greens and punishing rough. A joy to play and never crowded.

Callander

They claim to give you a warm welcome here, and this was particularly true when I arrived at the pro shop with my very teenage daughter and asked whether we could play 18 holes. We were kitted out with clubs and told to follow the 4 young local lads just leaving from Tee 1. We spent a thouroughly enjoyable afternoon playing a splendid course! We'll be back for more.

Portlethen

Surely the best value golf in Scotland! A challenging, fair test requiring every club in the bag - rewarding good shots and penalising poor ones. Best day of the tour.

Played 06-05-2007 by Joe Maggee

machrie

One of the most intimidating but rewarding golf courses ever designed surely. The weather makes it a different course every time, with the wind changing each day. A perfect links course and a wonderfully friendly hotel with some of the best locally sourced food I've ever had. A must for all hardy enthusiasts!!

Braid Hills No1

Braid Hills (althought a municipal) is a truly great course, its layout is completely non-repetitive and as a links course it challenges the whole range of your golfing skills. The course was in great order when I played it and the view from the hill-tops (it is a bit up and down) are just breathtaking. I thouroughly enjoyed my round here and would recommend it to anyone - although next-time I would carry my bag rather than use a cart.

Old Course, St. Andrews

Our tee time was 0650hrs. Got it through the ballot the day before. Had a great tip from our caddie to stay on the left side of every fairway. I missed all the bunkers!!! Played PAR to my handicap of 18. It was a once in a lifetime experience and now I wish that I can play there again.

Played 27-05-2006 by Richard Stidi

Royal Dornoch

Although it was rainning for the first four holes, it was the greatest golfing experience I ever had. All the bunkers, all the trees, all the greens, everything make sense at Royal Dornoch. If you play well is easy to score low but if you play bad, get ready for a shocking result. I strongly recommended it.

Carnoustie

What a deal! Played all three courses, Burnside, Buddon and Championship for £135 ! All Courses were in fantastic condition. Championship was the toughest course i have played - great to play the course with the stands from the open still present. My brother even holed his second shot on the 18th - a great way to finish our golfing holiday. A must for all golfers who are near Carnoustie!

Excellent parkland course.. In great condition. Blustery day so the par 5 ninth was a hard one to play. Enjoyed a good lunch back at the clubhouse

Prestwick

The summer of 2007 was when I took the once in a lifetime trip to play the great golf courses in Scotlan. On this trip we played the Old & New Course at St. Andrews, Royal Troon, Prestwick, and Turnberry. Of all the courses we played Prestwick was an absolute treat. I loved playing a course where the Open Championship started. The land is beautiful, the people were friendly and even though it was once and a lifetime trip I am going back.

north berwick west links

This is without doubt one of the finest golf experiences any person could have.fantastic links test with greens like billiard tables. Some of the toughest holes you will face when the wind blows but you cannot help but marvel at the entire experience.finish off by going into the club house and absorb the history of it all over a pint or two. Sheer class must play course.
