New Ryder Cup Logo Launched

Following the launch of the first ever unified Ryder Cup logo by Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America, Scotland continues its drive to deliver the best event ever when The 2014 Ryder Cup will be played at Gleneagles.

With four years to go ‘Team Scotland’ launched their Ryder Cup 2014 website along with a specially created film around the ‘Home of Golf’ and an online game where people can get a taste of the famous PGA Centenary course at Gleneagles.

Paul Bush OBE, Chief Operating Officer for EventScotland, “The new Ryder Cup logo not only consolidates the work of both Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America, but it gives everyone a renewed focus around what is set to be an amazing event for Scotland and everyone involved.”

VisitScotland’s Chief Executive Malcolm Roughead, “The Ryder Cup offers Scotland a tremendous opportunity to enhance our reputation as the home of golf. This is the year of Active Scotland, giving us a great platform to showcase Scotland as the best destination in the world to enjoy golf. From Championship courses to stunning links courses on the islands, playing golf in Scotland is a magical experience that cannot be bettered anywhere in the world. Our marketing in the lead up to The Ryder Cup will inspire golfers from around the world to experience Scottish golf for themselves.”

Golf tourism is already a major income generator for the country and VisitScotland is focusing its efforts to ensure this goes from strength to strength as golf enthusiasts will be eager to make a trip for The Ryder Cup in 2014 or to experience the wonders of golf in Scotland in the lead up to the event.
