Stellar cast for Scottish Open
World number one and defending champion
Luke Donald will be among the impressive field of competitors
for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open which takes place
at Castle Stuart Golf Links from July 12 - 15.
The event - one of the biggest on the
European Tour - is staged the week before The Open at
Royal Lytham and St Annes and the prize money on offer totals
some £2.5m.
In addition to Donald, the Highland crowds
will be able to see the likes of Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 Open
champion, and his fellow South African Ernie Els.
Three-time major champion Padraig Harrington is
also heading for Castle Stuart, as is the ever popular Spaniard
Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Leading the home challenge will be former Open
champion Paul Lawrie and Martin Laird. Both Scots have showed some
fine form in recent months.
All in all, nine major champions are appearing in
this year's Scottish Open.
Castle Stuart Golf Links
opened to worldwide acclaim in 2009 and the course was recently
voted as the 56th best golf course in the world by the American
publication, Golf Magazine.
