Blair Ochil Estate sits amidst the beautiful and
hisorical area of Sheriffmuir and nearby Stirling, famous now as
“Braveheart” country. The Garden Cottage is located separately from
the main house and has access to 219 acres of spectacular woodland,
moorland, lochans and burns on the estate. Paradise Pool is located
on the estate with waterfalls, alcoves and pleasant walks.
Pheasant, roe deer and hares are always nearby.
This pretty traditional cottage is fresh and
light and comfortably sleeps 4 in a twin and double room. A private
enclosed garden gives privacy to enjoy evening BBQ's after a day's
walking the estate and hills. The historical towns of Stirling and
Dumblane are close by.
Ground Floor - Vestiblue, sitting room, dining
room, kitchen, double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with walk-in
shower and WC, twin bedroom, bathroom with WC.
Activities - The Garden Cottage enjoys a
beautiful location at the western end of the Ochil Hills with
wonderful views across historical Sheriffmuir. Despite the remote
feel of the estate, the Cathedral town of Dunblane is a mere 4
miles away with excellent shopping, eating and activities available
nearby at Stirling and Bridge of Allan.
Golf is widely available with the world famous
Gleneagles a 10 minute drive away and St Andrew's 40 minutes. An
hour away is the Trossachs National Park.
The area is steeped in history and in 1715 the
moors in front of the house were the setting for the Battle of
Sheriffmuir, Stirling Castle is an impressive landmark in the area
as is the Wallace Monument. Blair Drummond Safari Park is a 15
minute drive. Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy reach,about 40
mins by car.
