Caiplie House is centrally situated in the
picturesque village of Crail in The East Neuk of Fife. Crail has a
magical atmosphere, enticing visitors back year after year and
enchanting new visitors.
The harbour must be seen. It is understandably
the most photographed in Scotland. Lobsters and crabs are landed
here and can be bought fresh at the waters' edge. Dressed Crail
crab is a favourite local dish!
A small beach nestles in the bay adjacent to
Crail harbour, many more can be found on the surrounding coastline
that is host to a multitude of flora and fauna.
Golfers make the most of this coastline with some
fabulous links courses in the local area. Balcomie links by Crail
is one of the oldest golf courses in the world and of course St
Andrews lies only 10 miles away with The Old Course being it's best
known course.
Walkers, ramblers or trampers are now being
encouraged to discover the Fife coastline with the Fife Coastal
Path, a well-marked path from North Queensferry, by the famous
Forth bridges, to Crail. We can arrange all your accommodation and
arrange a bag moving service if you wish to walk the path.
Recently a very good network of cycle routes has
also been developed in Fife. You can follow well-marked routes for
short fun cycles or longer more testing routes. Again your
accommodation can be arranged in and around Fife and your luggage
can be moved for you.
This is only a very brief outline of what there
is to see and do in and around Crail and The East Neuk of Fife.
Boat trips, water-sports, museums, galleries, gardens and many more
attractions await you.
When you do come to Crail you can expect a warm
welcome at Caiplie House. Caiplie House is a substantial Victorian
house on three levels. The accommodation comprises seven guests'
bedrooms all recently modernised and all offering good value for
money. Some of the bedrooms benefit from a sea view with the Isle
of May, the Bass Rock and the East Lothian coast all prominent.
A blend of rooms is available with single, twin,
double, triple or family rooms. Some rooms have en-suite facilities
and at most two rooms share facilities.
There is a lounge available to residents with a
television, newspapers and books for their enjoyment. The lounge is
perfect for enjoying a drink before or after dinner, or relaxing
after an active day. Dinner is available at Caiplie house.
Enjoy local produce cooked in a traditional way
with contemporary influences. Please arrange dinner before your
arrival, contact Caiplie House if you have any special requests....
maybe some seafood or a nice fillet steak for the evening you
arrive!

Breakfast should set you up for the day with
Scottish and continental breakfasts available. A bowl of porridge,
our full Scottish breakfast or smoked haddock should be enough to
keep you going until you come back for dinner!

Fife, at Caiplie House you can be assured of a warm welcome, and a
