Our unique cottage has been completely
refurbished in 2007 to an extremely high standard. The cottage is
set in a stunning location, above the famous gorge at the Bridge of
Alvah, yet only 2 miles from historic Banff.
The unusual appearance of the cottage is due to
part of it being built as a folly to the magnificent Duff House.
With wildlife, walks, salmon fishing, golfing, the whisky and
castle trails right on your doorstep our cottage is a wonderful
place to spend a holiday.
Craig Cottage is our stunning 3 bedroom, 2
bathroom, self catering cottage, nestled in a secluded, tranquil
area of real natural beauty in complete privacy.
Stunning walks are right on your doorstep, along
with all sorts of wildlife, such as deer, foxes, badgers, otters,
pine martins, buzzards and our resident red squirrels, rabbits,
pheasants and woodpeckers.
The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring
the beautiful Moray Firth coastline with its secluded beaches and
majestic cliffs, which are home to rare sea bird colonies; or take
a trip to sea on the Puffin to watch the dolphins and seals
play.
The cottage grounds, whilst beautiful all year
round, come alive in May and June when the rhododendron borders are
in full bloom. Being south facing, the patio at the front of the
cottage is a really sheltered suntrap, a lovely place to spend the
evening relaxing with a dram, or having a leisurely barbecue.
Inside, the cottage has been finished to a very
high standard. All bedrooms have Sony Bravia LCD TV’s with Sky TV,
along with DVD players. All the beds have high quality mattresses.
The Kitchen has all the cooking and washing facilities, including
microwave, dishwasher and washing machine (all Siemens appliances)
and dining table and chairs with adequate seating for six.
The Lounge has an award winning hifi system,
a 37” Panasonic wall hung TV with Sky TV (including Sports
package), DVD player with DVD library and a very comfortable
3-piece suite. A laptop is also included with wireless broadband
and a Play Station 2 with a selection of games.
Outside, we also have a large rod room to keep
all your angling equipment, golf clubs or bicycles, all of which
can be hired from ourselves.
Craig Cottage is only 200 yards from our
Montcoffer salmon and sea trout beat on the River Deveron, which is
one of the finest stretches of water in Scotland.
