Behind the imposing classical Georgian facade of the Annandale
Arms is a small smart family owned hotel and restaurant. The hotel
has recently undergone a major refurbishment and offers
modern comfortable bedrooms with stylish en-suite bathrooms.
The restaurant menu has a good selection of local Scottish
produce cooked with skill and imagination. Accompanying this is a
carefully chosen wine list that offers a broad range at very
competitive prices. The oak-panelled bar carries a fine collection
of single malt whiskies and even boasts a breakfast whisky.
The Annandale is one of the oldest buildings in Moffat
pre-dating its neighbour the Town Hall by sixty years. Originally
built to serve the horse-drawn stagecoaches, the hotel has long
history of hospitality stretching back for the best part of 250
years.
Situated just a mile or so from the M74 motorway it makes both
an ideal stop over and centre to explore the Scottish border
country. The cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are within easy
reach.
The hotel has its own private car park for guests.
