Muirburn is a 200 year old farmhouse on the outskirts of Ayr, a short journey from Prestwick Airport and Ayr and Prestwick train stations.

Muirburn was bought by us when derelict and has been renovated to a high standard, transforming it into the comfortable home it is today. Our aim is to ensure you enjoy a relaxing stay in a friendly atmosphere.

We offer three ground floor rooms - 2 doubles and one super- king/twin - all en suite,  and decorated and furnished to a high standard. Our guests have the use of a comfortable breakfast/sitting room with a log burning stove.

Our breakfasts are a speciality. We use locally sourced products including free range bacon, sausages and eggs and homemade items such as smoked haddock fishcakes.

During your stay, you have direct access to a delightful decked area with goldfish pond where you can enjoy a glass of wine (bring your own), the views of the surrounding countryside and our horses grazing in the adjacent field.

We are in the heart of Burns Country and ideally placed to explore south and central Scotland. We are surrounded by many top class golf courses (we are members of Golf South Ayrshire) and situated right on the River Ayr Way for those of you who are walking enthusiasts. We are approximately 4 miles from Ayr Racecourse who have approximately 28 days racing a year including the Scottish Grand National and the Ayr Gold Cup.

We have three first class pubs and restaurants within three miles with many more to choose from in Ayr Prestwick and Troon, just a short drive away.

There is ample secure private parking as well as storage for bikes, fishing gear, golf clubs etc. We also provide drying facilities for those wet clothes!

Whilst we do not allow dogs in the rooms we have luxurious kennels for your canine companion.  We are able to offer stabling for horses should you wish to use Muirburn as a base whilst attending shows (eg Ayr Agricultural Show), competitions etc.

We regret we do not have the facilities to cater for children.

Stuart and Margaret look forward to welcoming you to our home and assure you of a warm welcome in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
