Number 6 is situated in a quiet residential
street with no through traffic. It is an attractive cedar-clad
semi-detached bungalow set in a plot of about 0.75 acres with
private parking for up to 4 cars.
he garden is extensive and includes garden
furniture and a summerhouse for those lazy days. There is lots of
safe space for games on the large lawn.
One of the many attractions of Number 6 is the
range of facilities within easy reach. The Station Park, a
supermarket, the High Street and a very good range of places to eat
and drink are all within 5 minutes walk.
Number 6 is a wonderful base for a range of
activities including walking, golf, fishing and bird-watching.
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Carlisle are all within little more than one
hour's drive.
The Grey Mare's Tail (a National Trust
property with a 300 foot waterfall) and St Mary's Loch are within
30 minutes by car and they must be visited. On the way, watch out
for red squirrels and wild goats.
The Tibetan monastery at Samy Ling near
Eskdalemuir is a peaceful and essential visit. Close to Moffat is
the Devil's Beef Tub, a dramatic landform used by the Border
Reivers to hide their stolen cattle.
This is Robert Burns country and he was a
regular visitor to Moffat. He patronized the Black Bull, which is
the nearest pub to Number 6 (5 minutes walk).
The property is newly available for
self-catering holidays. It has central heating throughout, the main
living areas are fully carpeted and it is very well decorated and
equipped.
The kitchen includes a turbo, fan-assisted
oven. Other facilities include fridge-freezer, microwave and
dishwasher. A utility room has a washing machine and lots of space
for drying.
The lounge is a large and airy room with good
views of the Moffat Hills. The main bedroom has a king-sized double
bed with a window facing out to the back garden. The second bedroom
has two single beds and the window looks out to the hills.
The bathroom has a bath, power shower, toilet
and washbasin with shaving point. Gas, electricity, towels and bed
linen are provided at no extra cost.
We have turned the garage at Number 6 into a
games room for guests use - we have a full-size table tennis table,
darts board, petanque, badminton etc.
A Good Housekeeping deposit of £40 per week is
payable prior to stay directly to Provider.
