Duration: 2 days
Day 1
The Borders first ever golf club, Hawick, begins this route. Hawick Golf Course is set on the Vertish Hill and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. The catering facilities are renowned throughout the Borders if you plan to have something to eat. Hawick is also famous for its Knitwear and Cashmere with such brands as Pringles, The Hawick Cashmere Co, Lyle & Scott and many more.
Travelling 7 miles north on the A7 you will come to Ashkirk where you will find The Woll Golf Course. The Woll is one of the newest 18-hole courses in the Borders, and has a fantastic new clubhouse which includes bar and restaurant facilities. They also offer self catering accommodation right next to the course. The Woll is one of the more gentle courses you would play on this A7 route set within the contours of the Valley.
Day 2
In Galashiels you have 2 golf courses. Ladhope Golf Course covers the side and top of Ladhope hill which means it does have a couple of steep inclines but once at the top you will marvel at the views. Catering can be arranged if ordered in advance. Then just 2 miles on the A7 North of Galashiels is Torwoodlee Golf Course, which is set along the banks of the River Gala. The clubhouse staff offer a good service and meals are available at lunchtime and in the evening in a peaceful location.
