Not long by modern standards at 5, 850-yards, Greenock is no pushover as its tight fairways and small undulating greens will test players at every level. The terrain is semi-moorland, with many tree-lined fairways and the odd burn and bunker to catch the slack shot.
The first five holes are played over undulating ground; the short uphill sixth takes the player to the upper part of the course, while the seventh tee affords one of the best views from any course in Scotland
